• Entries for 2023 are now open! The Head On Photo Awards represent a global selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers.
• Australian Geographic partners with Head On Photo Festival to launch the Head On Environmental Awards by Australian Geographic. The Awards aim to drive urgent action to support conservation efforts for the world’s diverse environments.
• At the heart of Head On Photo Festival are the Head On Photo Awards across four categories;, Portrait, Landscape, Student, and the brand-new Environmental Awards by Australian Geographic all judged by a diverse panel of Australian and international photography industry leaders, from creators to curators.
• Head On’s philosophy hinges upon the belief that all artists should receive equal opportunities to gain exposure to their work. Valuing merit and inclusivity, the judging panel selects finalists and winners through a blind judging process in which artists’ names are hidden – ensuring a uniquely unbiased selection process. While providing photo-based artists with invaluable prospects to exhibit in Sydney, online and internationally, Head On has awarded artists over $800,000 in cash and prizes on a global scale since 2004 and has toured the exhibitions internationally.
